Category Merchandiser - Sportswear

We are looking for aRetail Merchandiserwith experience preferably insportswear / activewear retailto drive category performance, manage inventory, and ensure the right product assortment across stores. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a good understanding of retail merchandising and store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Planning & Range Management

• Plan seasonal product ranges for sports retail categories.
• Ensure the right product mix across Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories across stores.
• Track and monitor store-level GM% aligned with business targets.
• Manage store-wise assortment planning and follow the SET Quantity process.

Category Performance Management

• Conduct weekly and monthly sales analysis at category and SKU level.
• Monitor sell-through %, ASP (Average Selling Price) and overall category performance.
• Identify slow-moving and ageing inventory and initiate liquidation plans in coordination with the team.

Inventory & Stock Control

• Maintain healthy stock cover (4575 days) at store level.
• Manage replenishment planning and Reorder Level (ROL) monitoring.
• Reduce stock ageing and dead stock across stores.

Visual Merchandising & Store Coordination

• Ensure category display standards are maintained across stores.
• Support new store openings with range planning and assortment setup.

Skills Required:

• Strong retail merchandising and category management knowledge.
• Good analytical and data interpretation skills for sales and inventory analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel / spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
• Understanding of inventory management, stock planning, and replenishment cycles.
• Good coordination and communication skills to work with store teams and management.
• Basic understanding of visual merchandising standards in retail stores.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• 24 years of experience in Retail Merchandising, preferably in sportswear, apparel, or footwear retail.
• Experience working with multi-store retail operations will be an added advantage.
