Job Title: Category Manager New Business

Role Type & Location: Full-Time | Mumbai

Reporting To: Chief Business Officer

VARTIS Platforms is profitable, rapidly scaling and industry recognised market leader in the P2P Lending and segment and among the top 3 platforms in the STPL segment.

We are now building new categories that will expand our offerings creating a more holistic financial ecosystem for our users.


This is a 01 ownership role, where you will shape strategy, product journeys, marketing alignment, and growth for a new category.


Your Role:

  • Launch and scale a brand-new category, delivering strong user adoption and early repeat behaviour.
  • Own competitive & market research , transforming insights into actionable growth experiments.
  • Develop the categorys strategy and value proposition , identifying differentiation opportunities in a competitive landscape.
  • Improve user journeys and funnels, collaborating closely with Product to remove friction and drive conversion.
  • Drive user acquisition via performance marketing, SEO and category throughput , owning the GMV and Average Ticket Size (ATS) targets for the vertical.
  • Work daily with Marketing to build communication and GTM , ensuring messaging resonates with the user base and new category-specific users.
  • Optimize app health and engagement, taking full ownership of active user bases including Daily Active Users (DAU) and Monthly Active Users (MAU) .
  • Uphold product quality and reputation, specifically driving high Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) scores and positive App Ratings for the new vertical

Qualifications:

  • 36 years of high-impact experience in a Growth or Category role within a fast-paced App-based business (Fintech/E-commerce/Q-comm).
  • High degree of business ownership with the ability to operate with extreme autonomy and minimal hand-holding.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, with diverse teams (Product, Tech, Marketing) to hit unified business goals.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex strategies into clear, persuasive narratives for all stakeholders.
  • Advanced data crunching and analytical skills; ability to navigate deep-dive analytics, dashboards, and complex unit economics to drive decisions.

Bonus:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate from a renowned institution (MBA/Techincal Background is preferred, but execution is key)
  • Prior experience scaling a financial product or category from early stage to growth.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing/analytical tools like CleverTap, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of working with AI tools like Gemini or GPT or Claude


Career Progression: This role is a strategic pipeline to Senior Category Manager or Business Manager/Head within 1824 months, eventually leading to full P&L ownership of the vertical.
