Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a senior leader to build and scale a high-trust, premium events business from the ground up.
This role owns the end-to-end events vertical from concept and pilot events to a nationally distributed, scalable business . The mandate goes far beyond execution. This person will treat events as both a product and a P&L-led business , not a one-off project.
You will own experience design, operating model, partnerships, and financial performance, with full accountability for quality, scale, and sustainability.
What You Will Own
1. Events Strategy & Category Building
- Define the vision, positioning, and differentiation for the events category
- Set pricing, experience standards, and end-to-end user journey
- Build events as a repeatable and scalable national offering
- Design the roadmap to move from pilot formats to consistent, multi-city execution
2. End-to-End Event Execution
Own the complete on-ground experience, including:
- Events calendar and capacity planning
- Demand generation and repeat attendance
- Venue selection, layouts, and attendee flow
- In-event branding, food & beverage, decor, ambience, and hospitality
- Post-event experience, feedback loops, and quality improvements
Maintain an exceptionally high quality bar across cities and touchpoints.
3. Partnerships & External Ecosystem
- Build and manage partnerships with venues, event agencies, F&B partners, and marketing partners
- Leverage external networks to scale efficiently
- Negotiate commercial terms and manage partner performance
- Ensure consistent quality while working with multiple vendors
4. Scale & Operating Model
- Launch and operate events across multiple cities
- Build a scalable operating model, including:
- Central strategy, playbooks, and quality control
- City-level execution teams
- Close coordination with external agencies
- Create SOPs, checklists, and playbooks to ensure consistency at scale
5. Business Ownership & P&L
- Own budgets, unit economics, and ROI
- Own revenue, margins, and profitability for the events vertical
- Make informed trade-offs between experience quality, cost, and scalability
- Build events as a sustainable, contribution-margin-positive business line
6. Founder & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with founders and cross-functional teams (marketing, community, product, ops)
- Build events into a flagship, defining vertical for the overall brand
Non-Negotiables
- Proven experience building and operationalising physical events
- Exceptional attention to detail and obsession with experience quality
- Strong partnerships background with relevant external contacts
- Comfort owning budgets, vendors, and trade-offs
- Hands-on executor who enjoys being on the ground
Who Will Do Well in This Role
- Treats events like a product and a business, not a project
- Has scaled events across multiple cities or locations
- Balances creativity with operational discipline
- Thrives in early-stage or zero-to-one environments
- Has managed P&L and distributed teams
- Has used technology to enhance event operations and user experience
Who Will Not Be a Fit
- No prior ownership of event P&L or budgets
- No experience building repeatable systems at scale
- Purely creative or conceptual profiles
- Only local or single-city vendor management experience
- Discomfort with ambiguity, ownership, or on-ground execution
- No real end-to-end event execution experience
