Role Overview

The Product / Category Manager Residential BESS will be responsible for building and scaling Waarees residential energy storage business through the franchise ecosystem. The role will own the product strategy, pricing, positioning, training, and channel enablement required to drive residential battery adoption across India.

This role requires a business owner mindset, managing the category across product offering, sales enablement, supply coordination, service readiness, and market competitiveness.


Key Responsibilities

1. Category Strategy & Business Ownership

- Own the Residential BESS category strategy and growth roadmap.

- Define productmarket fit for residential segments.

- Develop annual business plans, revenue targets, and expansion strategies.

- Track category performance including sales, margins, channel adoption, and regional growth.


2. Product Positioning & Offering Development

- Define residential BESS product offerings and configurations.

- Support launch of new SKUs and system configurations.

- Work with engineering teams for continuous product improvement.


3. Franchise Channel Enablement & Product Awareness

- Drive product awareness across Waarees franchise network.

- Conduct regular training sessions for franchise partners, franchise managers, and sales engineers.

- Develop training covering product features, sizing, solar+BESS integration, ROI and competitive positioning.

- Work with marketing to develop sales decks, brochures, FAQs, and competitive battle cards.


4. Pricing & Commercial Strategy

- Develop pricing frameworks for residential segments.

- Optimize pricing vs margin balance.

- Support channel incentive structures.

- Monitor competitor pricing and positioning.


5. CrossFunctional Coordination

- Coordinate with Supply Chain for demand forecasting and inventory planning.

- Coordinate with Service teams for installation readiness and SLAs.

- Work with Finance for pricing strategy and margin analysis.


6. Competitive Intelligence

- Track competitor products, pricing, warranties, and GTM strategies.

- Benchmark against leading residential energy storage players.

- Identify differentiation opportunities across safety, warranty, integration, pricing, and brand trust.
