Job Description

As we scale across India and global markets, were looking for a Category Head who can own the end-to-end category journey from consumer insight product pipeline launch excellence scale-up and profitability.

If youre someone who can combine customer obsession, strong business judgment, and cross-functional leadership, this role offers a chance to shape categories that can become #1 bestsellers and enduring franchises.


Whats in store:

Own Category Strategy & Growth

Build a clear category vision across price tiers, age groups, and purchase occasions (gifting, learning, hobby, impulse).

Define portfolio architecture, hero SKUs, innovation roadmap, and whitespace opportunities.

Drive category topline growth while protecting contribution margin and working capital health.

Lead New Product Launch Excellence

Own the end-to-end launch charter: design finalization sourcing readiness compliance GTM.

Work closely with Product Design, Sourcing, Quality, and Marketing to deliver launch ready products.

Create launch scorecards across channels (Amazon, Q-Com, GT, Modern Trade, International).

Customer & Competition Insights

Track category trends, parent/child needs, competitive benchmarking, pricing moves, and new entrants.

Translate insights into sharp product briefs, packaging inputs, and claim strategy.

Licensing & Partnership-led Growth

Identify, evaluate, and scale licensing and partnership opportunities (e.g., inventor-led collaborations, co-branded ranges, global licensing tie-ups) that strengthen the category portfolio.

Own the partnership charter from a category lens assortment strategy, pricing architecture, margin guardrails, launch readiness, and scale-up plans across channels.

Work cross-functionally with founders/business development, sourcing, and marketing to ensure partnerships deliver incremental revenue, differentiation, and sustainable contribution margins.

Contribution Margin & Unit Economics Ownership

Own product P&L levers: pricing, discounting strategy, COGS improvement, and promo effectiveness.

Improve CM2 through better sourcing, packaging optimization, freight efficiency, and mix.

Build dashboards for SKU-level profitability, inventory turns and forecast accuracy.

Cross-functional Leadership

Align Product Design, Performance Marketing, Content, Sales, and Supply Chain to a single category plan.

Drive weekly launch reviews, monthly business reviews, and quarterly strategy refresh.

What Success looks like:

New launches become top performers within 6090 days with strong ratings and conversion

Category and Product Groups achieves sustained YoY growth + improved CM2 through better mix and pricing discipline.

Imagimake strengthens leadership in priority categories with higher share of voice and share of shelf.

Identified Partnership Projects are launched successfully delivering the desired outcome and ROI with a clear roadmap for scaling the opportunities

The category pipeline becomes aligned to customer needs + channel realities.


What makes a great fit:

812+ years in Category Management / Product / Business roles (consumer brands, toys, kids, FMCG, lifestyle).

Strong launch management skills with cross-functional execution capability.

High comfort with numbers: unit economics, pricing, margins, inventory turns, forecasting.

Strong consumer intuition + ability to convert insight into product strategy.

Ownership mindset and ability to build scalable processes.
