Job Title: Cardiac Anaesthetist

Location: CDSIMER, DSU Harohalli

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Cardiac Surgeon, Incharge Medical Superintendent


Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Anaesthetist or an Anaesthetist capable of independently managing cardiac anaesthesia for a range of cardiac procedures including CABG, valve surgeries, congenital heart defect surgeries, and minimally invasive cardiac interventions. The candidate will ensure safe perioperative management, optimal patient outcomes, and adherence to hospital protocols.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer anaesthesia for adult and paediatric cardiac surgeries, including open-heart surgeries.
  • Independently manage perioperative care of cardiac patients, including preoperative assessment and postoperative ICU care.
  • Monitor and manage hemodynamics, ventilation, and analgesia during cardiac procedures.
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, and ICU teams for comprehensive patient care.
  • Use advanced monitoring techniques (TEE, invasive lines, cardiac output monitoring) during cardiac procedures.
  • Participate in emergency cardiac cases and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards, guidelines, and infection control protocols.
  • Mentor and train junior anaesthetists and residents in cardiac anaesthesia.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential:
  • MD / DNB / DM in Anaesthesiology
  • Proven experience in cardiac anaesthesia, with the ability to independently manage cardiac surgical cases.
  • Desirable:
  • Fellowship or certification in Cardiac Anaesthesia (e.g., FICC, FSCAI, or equivalent)
  • Post Graduate Certificate Course (Super-speciality Certification) in Cardiac Anaesthesia
