What would you do? We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our organization as a Project Procurement coordinator, specializing in coordinating a team of buyers and expeditors to provide procurement and expediting/shipping management services to Oil & Gas EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors. As the Purchasing Tower Lead, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment, and coordinating expediting and shipping activities to support the successful execution of projects. Investment project management and control capabilities related to grid assets to enable the energy transition (e.g. transmission interconnections).
What are we looking for? Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master s degree is a plus. Extensive experience (at least 8 years) in procurement and expediting/shipping management, specifically within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in an EPC contractor environment. Strong knowledge of procurement principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a deep understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of the Oil & Gas sector. Proven track record of successfully managing procurement and expediting/shipping activities through onshore/offshore teams in complex Oil & Gas projects. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a multi process diverse team of more than 100 head counts of buyers and expeditors. Assure an excellent service to the Client on SLA based contract with performance measured Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain favorable relationships with suppliers and vendors. Proficiency in procurement processes, including supplier qualification, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and purchase order management. Experience in expediting activities, including monitoring supplier performance, tracking delivery schedules, and resolving potential delays. Familiarity with logistics and shipping processes, including transportation coordination, customs clearance, and shipping documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and mitigating procurement and expediting risks. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders. Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards related to procurement and expediting/shipping management in the Oil & Gas industry. Strong business acumen and understanding of the Oil & Gas industry, including project lifecycle and regulatory requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Willingness to travel as required to project sites and supplier/vendor locations. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Supporting Expediting team when escalation with suppliers is needed to achieve Project goals
Roles and Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact of the client for procurement tasks on project managed. Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on procurement status, including risks, issues, & progress. Prepare & present procurement reports to client procurement senior management & other key stakeholders. Lead an offshore team of buyers & expeditors, providing guidance & support to ensure efficient & effective procurement & expediting/shipping management services. Assign tasks & responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective accountability.Collaborate with clients project managers, engineers, & other stakeholders to identify procurement needs, define material & equipment specifications, & establish procurement schedules.Collaborate with client to ensure alignment with project budgets, analyze cost variances & implement corrective actions as necessary. Collaborate with the finance team to provide accurate financial reporting & forecastingOversee the procurement process, including supplier qualification, bid evaluations, negotiation of contracts & purchase orders, & vendor selection, ensuring compliance with procurement policies & procedures agreed with client. Coordinate expediting activities to monitor & expedite the delivery of materials & equipment, ensuring adherence to project schedules & specifications.Liaise with the onshore Sourcing Manager & the Expediting Manager to get guidelines & coordinate the international team to ensure the smooth execution of the services in compliance with Clients requirements & contractual obligations.Manage relationships with suppliers & vendors, fostering effective communication, resolving issues, & negotiating favorable terms & conditions.Collaborate closely with the project control team to track & manage procurement budgets, forecast costs, & provide accurate reporting on procurement status, cost variances, & potential risks.Establish & maintain effective communication channels with Clients project teams, & stakeholders regarding procurement & expediting/shipping management activities, ensuring timely access to information.Monitor market trends & supplier performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, & strategic partnerships.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry st&ards, & client-specific requirements in all procurement & expediting activities.Collaborate with logistics & shipping teams to coordinate transportation, customs clearance, & shipping activities, ensuring timely & cost-effective delivery
