What would you do? The Expediting Tower Lead position is available at our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracting service practice, specializing in providing Expediting support services and coordinating with shipping coordination functions of our EPC contractor clients. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic individual to lead and oversee our Offshore Expediting department. As an Expediting Tower Lead, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Expediting Domain lead while managing Expediting activities, being the pivot between procurement, inspection, shipping and Supplier to ensure a successful supply chain, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment to support our clients projects. Investment project management and control capabilities related to grid assets to enable the energy transition (e.g. transmission interconnections).
What are we looking for? Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master s degree is a plus. Extensive experience (at least 8 years) in Expediting and supply chain management, in the EPC contracting industry, preferably in the Oil&Gas Sector. Strong knowledge of Expediting principles and processes first along with good understanding of procurement services and processes, good knowledge and best practices in the engineering and construction sectors. Proven track record of successfully managing expediting activities in Oil&Gas Sector. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse procurement team. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on optimizing supply chain efficiency and reducing costs. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Familiarity with international regulations, trade compliance, and customs requirements related to procurement and shipping. Proficiency in procurement systems, tools, and technologies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Willingness to travel as required to visit suppliers, attend industry events, and support project needs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple expediting and shipping activities simultaneously. Problem-solving abilities to identify and address potential delays, bottlenecks, or issues in the expediting and shipping process. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet project deadlines and ensure timely delivery. Strong sense of urgency and proactive approach to expediting and shipping activities. Proficiency in written and spoken English. As the Expediting Tower Lead, you will have a pivotal role in managing expediting support services for our EPC contractor clients. Your strategic mindset, leadership skills, and industry knowledge will be instrumental in optimizing the supply chain, ensuring reliable material delivery, and supporting the successful execution of projects.
Roles and Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Expediting Tower Lead and procurement team to understand the project requirements, schedules, and critical milestones for material and equipment delivery. Act proactively to assure identification and proper advance planning for all oversize/overweight/dangerous goods shipment. Coordinate an offshore team of expediting coordinators to ensure the smooth and correct execution of services in compliance with Clients requirement and contractual obligations. Collaborate closely with the procurement team to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to deliveries, invoicing, or quality concerns. Identify and communicate potential risks or bottlenecks in the expediting and shipping process, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and compliance requirements related to shipping and logistics in the Oil & Gas sector. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Post-Order department, suggesting process enhancements and participating in process optimization projects. Foster effective communication channels with stakeholders, including project teams, suppliers, logistics providers, and customs authorities. Maintain a customer service-oriented approach, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal and external queries. Collaborate with the procurement team to provide input on supplier performance and delivery metrics, contributing to supplier evaluation and selection processes. Collaborate with Procurement Tower lead to develop procurement strategies to support the needs of our EPC contractor clients, including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management. Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to identify project requirements, specifications, and procurement timelines. Manage and develop relationships with suppliers and vendors, monitoring their performance. Liaise with the Expediting Domain Lead and lead a team of onshore/offshore Expediting coordinators, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery. Collaborate with shipping teams to optimize supply chain logistics, track material progress, and ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials to project sites. Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks. Collaborate with procurement, finance and accounting teams to avoid financial roadblocks/Vendor claims.
