CAD Testing Engineer

THIS IS A 6-MONTH CONTRACT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY LEADERS.

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in 3D CAD testing within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) and Manufacturing domains. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing desktop-based CAD applications such as Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, or Navisworks and possess a strong understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies in an Agile environment.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manual testing of desktop-based applications.
• Hands-on experience testing 3D CAD tools such as Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Inventor, or Navisworks.
• Experience creating and executing test cases using Zephyr/XRay or similar tools.
• Experience with desktop UI automation tools such as TestComplete or similar frameworks.
• Comfortable working in Windows desktop environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in desktop software product and integration testing.
• Exposure to automation frameworks and CI/CD environments.
• Basic programming knowledge in C# .NET or Java (good to have).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and test automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and own comprehensive test plans (manual and automated) for desktop-based 3D applications.
• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing of new and existing features in an Agile sprint cycle.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as Zephyr/XRay or similar test management systems.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure high software quality standards.
• Participate in bug bashes and release validation cycles.
• Identify automatable scenarios and contribute to building automation frameworks to support CI/CD pipelines.
• Communicate delivery risks proactively and propose mitigation strategies.
