Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Industry: Manufacturing

Location: India

Experience: 1018 years (minimum 57 years in senior finance leadership)

Job Purpose

The CFO will be responsible for strategic financial leadership, ensuring strong financial controls, cost efficiency, compliance, fund management, and supporting business growth in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with business goals

Act as a strategic partner to MD/CEO and Board

Support expansion plans, capex, mergers, and acquisitions

Drive profitability, ROCE, EBITDA improvement

2. Accounting, Audit & Compliance

Oversee statutory, internal, cost & tax audits

Ensure compliance with:

Companies Act

GST, Income Tax, Customs

FEMA, RBI (if exports/imports involved)

Finalization of monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements

Liaison with auditors, banks, consultants, and regulators

3. Manufacturing Costing & Controls

Implement and monitor:

Product costing

Standard costing & variance analysis

Inventory & WIP controls

Improve cost efficiency in:

Raw materials

Power & fuel

Logistics

Plant overheads

Strengthen MIS & ERP systems

4. Treasury, Banking & Fund Management

Manage working capital, cash flows, and liquidity

Handle banking relationships:

CC limits

Term loans

LC/BG

Optimize interest cost and funding structure

Support fund raising (debt/equity if required)

5. Budgeting, MIS & Reporting

Lead annual budgeting & forecasting

Review monthly MIS, variance analysis & corrective actions

Provide decision-oriented financial insights to management

KPI tracking for plant & business performance

6. Taxation (Direct & Indirect)

Strategic planning for:

GST optimization & compliance

Income tax assessments

Transfer pricing (if applicable)

Manage tax litigation & notices

Ensure timely returns and reconciliations

7. Team & Process Management

Lead finance, accounts, taxation & costing teams

Build SOPs, internal controls, and risk management frameworks

Mentor and develop finance talent

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting & costing

Expertise in GST, Income Tax, ERP systems

Strategic thinking with hands-on execution ability

Strong analytical, leadership & communication skills

Experience with exports/imports is an advantage

Preferred Background

CA with experience in:

Manufacturing / industrial / process industry

Multi-plant operations (preferred)

ERP-driven environment (SAP / Oracle / Tally + add-ons)

Reporting To

Managing Director / CEO / Board of Directors
