Buyer - SSU TRIMS Plastic Parts

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Primary Purpose: -
•    Commercial settlement of Plastic parts, systems & tooling
•    Implement on sourcing strategies to de-risk AFS Businesses on Cost, Supply & Technology disruption 
•    Propose Strategic Supplier Basket and recommend MSP (Master Supplier Panel)/PSP (project supplier panel) for AFS projects

•    Leverage sourcing synergies
•    Optimize supplier base,

Key Result Areas: -
•    Supplier management of Plastic parts family for AFS businesses
•    Work to meet Org. Cost saving targets through various levers
•    Facilitate Cost competitive Process /Product technology/ alternate source
•    Containment of Raw Material increases.
•    Vendor on Board  for new project meeting Business needs of Time / Cost & Capex
•    Tooling & related post molding FTG settlements
•    Facilitate Capacity planning at supplier’s end to meet AFS Budget plan
•    Identify & implement new Process Technology across Sectors
•    Increase Common source across sectors
•    Work on Process Improvement & DWM
•    Implementation of Sustainability initiatives.
•    Value Engineering initiatives to save cost
•    RM cost increase/decrease, budgets preparation &  provision, conversion increase/decrease
•    Actualization (process, RM, assy., etc.) at supplier 

Scope & Dimension of Job:-
•    Improve internal customer and supplier experience
•    Differential sourcing strategy of part Family
•    Align Sourcing Strategies to meet Manufacturing strategy of the Business, 
•    Use unconventional levers like spend analytics, digitization etc. Total Cost of Acquisition & improve efficiency of Business.
•    Interact with other Stake holders in the business-like Business Partnering, PD, SCM, CDMM   to achieve Business goal.
•    Planning, Organizing, Review & Control
•    Meet Compliance requirements as per department policy

Education Qualification

General Experience

Minimum 5 years

Critical Experience

•    Supplier Assessment & Evaluation on cost, quality, delivery parameters
•    Suppliers Risk assessment on Finance, Safety & Labor relations
•    Process knowledge (injection molding, blow molding, painting, post molding joining processes in plastic industry, FTG requirements) & Commercial acumen, 
•    Automotive Plastic Supplier Base (molding+FTG) & Networking with plastic part & RM suppliers 
•    Spend Analytics and digitization
