What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):

The Business Systems Analysis Sr. Manager, as a member of the Big Data Platform Services (BDPS) team, acts as a liaison between business stakeholders, other CIBC technology teams, and the Big Data Delivery team (EDH & EDGE). The role ensures alignment and understanding of both functional and non-functional requirements, leading requirement gathering sessions, providing expertise to project managers, and coordinating with peer technology groups for seamless delivery. The incumbent will gain a deep understanding of CIBC data, orchestrate complex data mapping, and contribute to key initiatives such as the EDH to EDGE migration and building a data lake for business users, leveraging both on-premises (Hadoop) and cloud (Azure) big data technologies.

Experience: 10+ years of experience

• Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals roles support the achievement of the business units priorities and CIBCs overall goals.
• Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.

• Provide regular status updates to leadership and ensure effective communication across all stakeholder groups.
• Conduct research and current state analysis to identify capabilities required to support future state solutions.
• Collaborate with solution designers, architects, and developers to design and validate solutions that meet business requirements.
• Prepare and validate solution design documents, ensuring clarity around scope, requirements, and quality assurance.
• Develop deep expertise in CIBCs data landscape, orchestrating complex data mapping, modeling, and profiling activities.
• Analyze and interpret data using tools such as SQL, Excel, HUE (Hadoop), Databricks SQL, and others to support solution delivery.
• Coordinate with peer technology groups to ensure seamless delivery of data solutions, including EDH to EDGE migration and data lake creation.

Who You Are (Skills / Qualifications):

Must Have Skills:

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in business consulting, data analysis, and solution design within large, complex organizations.
• Proven ability to lead multiple projects and design end-to-end data solutions.
• Strong skills in eliciting requirements, stakeholder management, and documentation.
• Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills using SQL, Excel, HUE (Hadoop), Databricks SQL, etc.
• Experience with Confluence, Jira, GitHub, and data modeling (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL).
• Demonstrated experience working with both Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, SQL MI, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks) and Hadoop services (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Hue).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on team development, collaboration, and delivering results.
