RG Insights is RateGains analytics and intelligence platform designed to deliver actionable business insights through interactive dashboards. It enables hotel leaders to make smarter, faster, and more profitable decisions across booking trends, channel performance, and revenue optimization.

As RG Insights scales, commercial adoption, monetization, and revenue impact are central to its growth.


Role Summary

The Business Manager RG Insights owns the commercial success of the RG Insights platform . The primary mandate of this role is to productize data and insights into monetizable offerings , converting analytics into clearly packaged, priced, and sellable products.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and commercialization , with full accountability for adoption, monetization, and measurable revenue outcomes.


Mission:

Transform RG Insights from a reporting and analytics layer into a revenue-generating data product . Own end-to-end monetization by identifying high-value insights, defining commercial packaging, and driving adoption and expansion through strong business use cases.

Success in this role is measured by revenue impact , not just usage or feature delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Productization & Monetization
  • Identify datasets, insights, and dashboards that can be productized into paid offerings.
  • Define packaging, tiering, and pricing strategies (core vs premium insights, add-ons, bundles).
  • Build monetization roadmaps supported by customer willingness-to-pay and ROI narratives.
  • Own business cases for new monetizable insight products.


2. Commercial Enablement & Revenue Impact

  • Partner closely with Sales and Customer Success to drive upsell, cross-sell, and expansion.
  • Translate insights into compelling commercial value propositions for hotel customers.
  • Support enterprise deal cycles with use-case storytelling, demos, and proof points.
  • Track and report revenue contribution from RG Insights-led deals.


3. Adoption as a Monetization Lever

  • Drive product adoption and engagement as prerequisites for monetization.
  • Identify and remove adoption friction that limits revenue realization.
  • Use customer usage data to identify expansion and pricing opportunities.


4. Insight-Led Offering & Dashboard Strategy

  • Work with Data, Product, and Engineering to design outcome-driven dashboards.
  • Ensure insights address real commercial decisions faced by hoteliers.
  • Continuously refine offerings based on customer feedback, usage patterns, and revenue performance.


5. Cross-Functional Ownership

  • Act as the single-threaded owner for RG Insights commercial outcomes.
  • Influence roadmap priorities based on monetization potential and business impact.
  • Present the commercial strategy, progress, and results to senior leadership.

  • Launch commercial packages for RG Insights within defined timelines
  • 30%+ increase in active usage among monetized accounts
  • Improved feature adoption across paid insight offerings
  • Higher NPS and satisfaction scores for RG Insights users


Strategic KPIs

  • Drive successful monetization of RG Insights by defining and executing value-based use cases.
  • Deliver actionable commercial insights that contribute directly to revenue growth or retention.
  • Achieve cross-functional alignment for all Insights initiatives across Engineering, Commercial, and Customer Success.
  • Build a sustainable adoption engine with in-product analytics and customer usage insights.


Key Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to convert data, insights, and analytics into monetizable products through clear packaging, pricing, and value articulation.
  • Strong understanding of revenue levers such as upsell, cross-sell, expansion, retention, and ARPU, with the ability to link insight usage to commercial outcomes.
  • Proven experience driving user adoption, retention, and engagement through experimentation, iteration, and data-driven prioritization.
  • Advanced capability in Tableau / Power BI, with sound judgment to distinguish actionable insights from descriptive or vanity metrics.
  • Strong consulting-style thinking with comfort operating in ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces, using structured frameworks and hypothesis-driven analysis.
  • Ability to align Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and Leadership around shared commercial goals through clear communication and data-backed persuasion.
  • Bias toward action and outcomes, with the ability to move from strategy to execution using agile planning, prioritization, and delivery discipline.
  • Takes end-to-end ownership of results, tracks impact rigorously, course-corrects when needed, and holds accountability for business outcomes and not just activity.
  • Ability to clearly articulate why an insight matters, how it drives revenue or cost efficiency, and why customers should pay for it.


Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelors degree from a Tier-1 institution (IITs, IIMs, ISB, or equivalent global top-tier universities).
  • MBA from a Tier-1 business school (IIMs / ISB or equivalent global programs) strongly preferred.
  • 610 years of experience, with a strong consulting background from top-tier consulting firms.
  • Proven experience in commercial strategy, monetization, business transformation, or data-led growth initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure, package, and monetize complex data or insight-led offerings.
  • Experience working with analytics, dashboards, or data-driven SaaS products in enterprise environments is highly desirable.
