Purpose Statement
To create a pipeline of the product for commercialization wherein 50% of the products are high value
Key Role & Responsibilities
This role shall handle the projects where the customer is interested in the procurement of the product on a higher scale against the assurance of order.
In any contract or agreement if the development charges are involved either at development stage or manufacturing stage a project for that part shall be deemed to be under CDMO Revenue and the revenue generated shall be factored therein.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Opportunity Identification & Customer Engagement:
Identify and evaluate potential companies globally with emphasis on the Japanese/South Korean market; other regions such as Russia, EU, and USA will be an added advantage.

Conduct company analysis and opportunity mapping to identify areas for collaboration.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (R&D, BD, Procurement).

Collect and consolidate customer requirements including product name, specifications, annual volume, target cost, and delivery region.

2. Inquiry & Proposal Management:
Handle incoming inquiries: ensure timely response and alignment across internal teams.

Prepare and submit comprehensive proposals, covering:

Literature and market intelligence

Trade data and costing inputs

Scope of work (inclusions/exclusions)

Deliverables, IP considerations, and project timelines

Payment terms and commercial conditions

Coordinate with technical and costing teams for accurate pricing of raw materials, intermediates, and final products.

3. Contracting & Documentation:
Work with the Legal team for NDA and agreement closures.

Ensure proper documentation for all customer commitments and confidentiality measures.

Support agreement finalization and project kick-off once approvals are in place.

4. Project Support & Coordination:
Support the project execution team in line with customer requirements and agreed milestones.

Track and report project status, ensuring SLAs and delivery commitments are met.

Identify and evaluate third-party partners or toll manufacturers where applicable and coordinate NDAs and confidentiality agreements.

5. Internal & Cross-functional Alignment:
Coordinate closely with R&D, Technology Team and Manufacturing Team, Process Development, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal for proposal preparation and execution.

Maintain effective communication between internal stakeholders to ensure clarity and timely progress.

Job specification
Experience7-12 years of experience in CDMO or Business Development- Chemical Industry and non-pharma. Must have worked with Japanese Chemical Companies.

Exposure to CDMO/CMO business (min 8-10 years experience in the area)

Experience in Proposal making for the customer
QualificationM. Sc or Ph.D in Organic Chemistry with some Scale-up/Plant understanding /Exposure. Strong understanding of synthesis. MBA will be an added advantage.
