Job Description
Role Title:Business Intelligence Developer
Position Summary:
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of organizational reports and dashboards that support a data-driven organization. Develops an understanding of business processes and data concepts in order to create meaningful solutions. Analyzes business data needs and documented requirements to develops responsive data models that leverage industry best practices. Designs and develops creative data visualizations that address business needs. Stays current on evolving technology and techniques to ensure FM Global's solutions are state of the art. Works independently under general direction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop organizational reports and dashboards
- Partner with business users, SMEs, and analysts to understanding reporting
- and needs
- Develop organizational reports and dashboards using technologies such as SQL Server, PowerBI, SSRS, and languages such as DAX, SQL, and others as needed
- Validate organizational reports and dashboards are accurate through detailed and disciplined testing methodologies
- Ensure data visualizations follows best practices, are easy for users to comprehend, and answer critical business questions
- Build a strong foundation of data expertise
- Understand source systems, business concepts, and data flows into Data
- Analytics systems
- Understand and infer relationships between business and data subject areas
- Support users and production applications
- Analyze and assess reported data quality issues, quickly identifying root cause
- Fix productions issues quickly, with appropriate validation and deployment steps
- Provide clear and professional communication to users, management, and teammates
- Provide ad hoc data extracts and analysis to respond to tactical business needs
- Participate in effective execution of team priorities
- Identify work that needs to be done and should be entered into team backlog
- Organize known tasks, following provided prioritization
- Escalate colliding priorities
Skill and Experience:
- 1 year of experience required to perform essential job functions
- Experience with development practices Experience with related technologies Experience with MS SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, Integration Services SSIS, Analysis Services SSAS. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills Analytical thinker, problem solver, team player, and customer focused
Must Have Skills:
- Required: Power BI,DAX, SQL, MS Excel; Preferred: Figma, Azure DevOps/GIT
Education and Certifications:
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
