Business Intelligence Analyst (AI-Assisted Reporting)

Job Location: Kolkata/Bengaluru/Hyderabad

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst with exceptional business acumen and analytical thinking who can leverage our proprietary AI-powered BI framework to deliver end-to-end reporting solutions. This role focuses on understanding business problems deeply, designing the right analytical approach, and translating complex data into actionable insightsnot just dashboards with numbers and charts.

You will work as a sole contributor owning the full reporting lifecycle: from gathering requirements to delivering polished Power BI reports. While you won't write code, you'll steer our agentic framework to generate data models, DAX measures, wireframes, and visualizationsmaking your ability to think critically about business problems and guide AI tools essential.

Key Responsibilities

Business Understanding & Analysis Design

Engage directly with business stakeholders to deeply understand their objectives, pain points, and decision-making processes

Translate business questions into well-structured analytical frameworksidentifying what needs to be measured, compared, or tracked

Design analyses that go beyond descriptive reporting to deliver prescriptive, actionable recommendations

Define the narrative and story the data needs to tell, ensuring reports drive decisions rather than just display information

AI-Assisted Report Development

Use our agentic BI framework to generate data models, DAX measures, wireframes, and Power BI reports

Provide clear, precise instructions to the AI framework to achieve desired outputs - iterating and refining as needed

Review and validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business requirements

Take end-to-end ownership of report delivery, ensuring quality without manual coding

Insight Design & Data Storytelling

Transform raw data into meaningful KPIs, metrics, and visual narratives that business users can act upon

Design dashboards with a focus on usability, clarity, and decision supportavoiding "data dumping"

Identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities within data that stakeholders may not have explicitly requested

Present insights in a way that answers "so what?" and "what should we do next?"

Requirements & Documentation

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements with precision

Create clear briefs for the AI framework including data sources, metrics definitions, visualization preferences, and business logic

Define data validation rules and acceptance criteria for reports

Maintain documentation of report specifications and business logic for future reference

Required Skills & Qualifications

5-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst / BI Analyst / Reporting Analyst

Exceptional business acumen - ability to understand diverse business models, processes, and what drives decisions

Proven experience in designing analytical solutions that deliver actionable insights, not just reports

Strong conceptual understanding of data modeling, metrics design, and BI reporting logic

Experience working with Power BI (or similar tools like Tableau, Looker)focus on design thinking rather than development

Ability to work with AI/LLM-based toolscomfort in prompting, iterating, and guiding AI systems to achieve desired outputs

Familiarity with SQL for data validation and understanding data structures

Strong ownership mindset - comfortable as a sole contributor responsible for end-to-end delivery

Technical & Tool Proficiency

Power BI (report design, understanding of DAX concepts, data model structures)

SQL (for data validation and exploration)

Excel (advanced)

Familiarity with AI/LLM tools and prompt-based workflows

Requirement documentation tools: JIRA, Confluence, or similar

Good to Have

Experience with data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schemas, ETL basics)

Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks)

Background in consulting or client-facing roles requiring independent delivery

Domain knowledge in Healthcare

Understanding of Agile methodologies

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field
