Job Description

Responsibilities


1. Transportation Planning and Execution:
o Collaborate with distribution centre, merchandising teams, for plan and coordinate transportation activities from vendors & to retail stores.
o Oversee the execution of transportation plans to ensure on-time and cost-effective deliveries.
o Effective & Continual Track & Trace
o Assist in execution & overseeing the entire process of order fulfilment from confirmation to shipment for products destined for home delivery.
o Distribution Center appointments & yard management
o Ship to home operations, club store requirements.
o Exceptions Management for Shipment issues, EDI communication etc in Transport Management System ( TMS)
2. Route Optimization:
o Analyze transportation routes and schedules to identify opportunities for optimization.
o Work with carriers and logistics partners to streamline routes, reduce transit times, and minimize costs.
3. Carrier Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with transportation carriers and service providers.
o RFP prep & support in negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements with carriers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation services.
4. Compliance and Regulations:
o Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry requirements.
o Stay updated on changes in transportation laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
5. Vendor Collaboration:
o Work closely with external vendors and transportation providers to resolve issues, track shipments, and improve overall service levels.
o Collaborate with vendors, DCs, Stores to implement best practices for efficient transportation operations.
6. Operational Efficiency:
o Implement process improvements to enhance overall transportation efficiency.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
7. Documentation and Recordkeeping:
o Oversee the accurate and timely completion of transportation-related documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and delivery confirmations.
o Investigate on instances of Detention, Accessorial etc.
o Maintain organized records for auditing and compliance purposes.
8. Team Collaboration:
o Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams, to ensure seamless coordination in transportation operations.
o Provide support to teams involved in the end-to-end supply chain process.
9. Reporting and Analysis:
o Generate regular reports on transportation performance, costs, and key metrics.
o Analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
o Optimisation of Freight Terms as identified.
