Biometric Tester

What success looks like in this role:

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Functional Tester to support our biometric integration program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating biometric device integrations, ensuring compliance with functional requirements, and supporting end-to-end testing of identity management workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute functional and system test cases for biometric modules including facial, fingerprint, and iris recognition.
• Validate integration of biometric devices with enrolment, verification and identification workflows
• Conduct interface validation testing for third-party systems such as Biometric Engines, SDKs and internal APIs
• Perform offline and network resilience testing to ensure message queuing and retry mechanisms function correctly
• Document test results, log defects, and track resolution in coordination with development teams.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Support configuration testing for biometric exemptions, validation rules, and device plug-ins
• Participate in defect triage meetings and provide input on severity and impact assessments

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in functional/system testing, preferably in biometric or identity management systems.
• Strong understanding of test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with biometric devices and middleware integration is a plus
• Familiarity with JSON-based validation, REST APIs, and device configuration frameworks.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with biometric integration platforms.
• Exposure to standards for biometric data quality and compliance
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
• Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Zephyr.
