BIM Modeler

Responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating detailed 3D digital models of building electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, ELV/data systems, and fire safety layouts. Using Autodesk Revit MEP, the role involves transforming 2D design drawings intoaccurate, coordinated 3D models that support installation, clash-free construction, and project delivery. The Electrical BIM Modeler ensures model accuracy, discipline coordination,timelydrawing production, and compliance with BIM standards and project requirements.

Core Responsibilities

1. 3DModeling& Electrical System Design

• Develop detailed andaccurate3D BIM models for electrical systems, including cable trays, conduits, switchgear panels, lighting layouts, fire alarm devices, and ELV services.
• Interpret contract drawings, project specifications, and client requirements to model electrical systems with precision.
• Ensure model geometry, parameters, and element properties are correctly defined for downstream use (shop drawings,takeoffs, coordination).

2. Coordination & Clash Detection

• Collaborate with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and other MEP teams toidentifyand resolve clashes.
• Conduct clash detection usingNavisworksor native Revit tools andparticipatein coordination meetings.
• Proposeviablesolutions toeliminateconflicts and improve constructability before site execution.

3. Shop Drawing Production

• Generatehigh-quality2D shop drawings directly from the 3D model, including layouts, sections, elevations, and system schematics.
• Prepare drawings for authority submissions and site installation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
• Update drawings based on review comments andensurealignment with the latest model revisions.

4. Model Updating & As-Built Integration

• Update models continuously based on site modifications, RFI responses, consultant feedback, and design revisions.
• Maintain version control and ensure the model accurately reflectsas-builtconditions for final handover.

5. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure allmodelingprocesses follow company standards, project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), LOD requirements, and local building codes.
• Maintain quality control across all BIM deliverables, ensuring proper file naming, template usage, and documentation consistency.

6. MaterialTakeoffs& Schedules

• Extractaccuratequantities, equipment schedules, and materialtakeoffsfrom the BIM model.
• Support procurement and estimation teams by providingBIM baseddata with high reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Software Skills

• Advancedproficiencyin Autodesk Revit MEP (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
• Experience using Navisworks for clash detection.
• Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) such as BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, SLDs, layouts, and general construction documents.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles related to building services.

Candidates with MRT or Metro rail experience preferred.

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, M&E Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 4 to 7years of experience in electrical BIMmodellingor drafting.
