BIM/CAD Technician Dry Utilities

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical MV & LV cable routing and substation drawings.
• Prepare telecom, street lighting, CCTV, and other dry utility drawings.
• Prepare single line diagrams (SLD) and load schedule drawings.
• Prepare building wiring and lighting drawings.
• Develop engineering drawings based on concepts, sketches, and design requirements.
• Prepare technical drafting and BIM modelling drawings for infrastructure (Dry Utilities) projects.
• Review drawings for clarity, presentation, and compliance with applicable standards in accordance with company QA/QC procedures.
• Work collaboratively with BIM Lead, Design Leads, and Engineers to develop drawings including layouts, arrangements, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, and detailed components from sketches and design data.
• Ensure timely implementation and completion of assigned tasks.
• Utilize BIM software and tools to coordinate design documentation across disciplines.
• Manage BIM related activities from project start up through project completion.
• Create and manage BIM content, including parametric and non-parametric families.
• Apply BIM best practices, including understanding LOD requirements and BIM execution processes.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines to manage design changes and model development.
• Liaise with Project Engineers regarding information requirements, progress updates, and potential delays.
• Perform clash detection, coordination, and resolution using Civil 3D and Autodesk Navisworks, and produce clash reports.
• Contribute to team effectiveness by sharing knowledge, supporting team objectives, and maintaining effective communication.
• Provide support to the Wet Utilities team as required.
• Perform other duties associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements:

Minimum 8+ years of CAD drafting experience in Dry utilities projects

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Navisworks.
• Experience in BIM coordination and infrastructure dry utilities projects.
• Good understanding of BIM processes, LOD requirements, and clash management.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Other related duties may be assigned as required.
