About the role:

As a BI Practice Leader Analytics, Data Engineering & DWH, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling Calfus Business Intelligence practice. You will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of BI capabilities while leading the design and implementation of enterprise-grade data platforms, governance frameworks, and visualization solutions.

This role blends deep technical leadership in data engineering and analytics with strong business acumen, presales engagement, capability building, and delivery governance. You will act as a strategic advisor to internal leadership and external clients, ensuring scalable, high-impact BI solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

What Youll Do:

Practice Strategy & Capability Building

• Define and drive the long-term vision and roadmap for the BI practice aligned with organizational goals.
• Build, mentor, and scale high-performing teams across data engineering, analytics, and visualization.
• Establish competency frameworks, skill matrices, and structured learning paths.
• Drive adoption of modern data platforms, governance standards, and engineering best practices.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and delivery excellence.

BI Architecture & DWH Solution Design

• Design scalable BI, Analytics, and Data Warehouse/Lakehouse architectures that meet evolving business needs.
• Architect reusable and standardized data solutions across batch and real-time processing models.
• Develop reference architectures, blueprints, accelerators, and reusable IP assets.
• Ensure scalable architecture design with strong performance optimization and reliability standards.

Data Engineering & Pipeline Leadership

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Oversee batch and real-time/streaming data processing architectures (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, etc.).
• Implement ingestion frameworks for structured and semi-structured data sources.
• Establish data quality, validation, lineage, and governance mechanisms.
• Drive modernization initiatives across cloud-native data ecosystems.

Visualization & Analytics Enablement

• Provide architectural oversight for BI and visualization solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker.
• Standardize dashboard frameworks and reporting best practices.
• Enable analytics-ready datasets aligned with executive and operational reporting needs.
• Ensure data storytelling standards for high-impact executive consumption.

Presales & Business Development

• Partner with sales teams in presales engagements and strategic pursuits.
• Lead technical responses for RFPs/RFIs with compelling solution narratives.
• Design and demonstrate prototypes and proof-of-concepts to prospective clients.
• Provide solution estimation, architecture inputs, and pricing guidance.
• Act as a trusted advisor in customer workshops and discovery sessions.

Delivery Governance & Operational Excellence

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of BI and data engineering engagements.
• Ensure accountability for resource planning, utilization, quality, and profitability.
• Define KPIs and performance dashboards for practice health monitoring.
• Drive governance frameworks for delivery excellence, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction.
• Own practice-level revenue growth and margin optimization.

On your first day, well expect you to have:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, BI architecture, or analytics leadership roles.
• Strong hands-on background in:
• Data pipeline development (ETL/ELT frameworks)
• Batch and real-time/streaming architectures
• Modern Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architectures
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Deep understanding of data modeling, dimensional schemas, and scalable architecture design.
• Experience implementing data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks.
• Proven experience building and scaling BI/Data practices or Centers of Excellence.
• Strong financial acumen with ownership of margins, utilization, and revenue targets.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Experience leading distributed and multi-disciplinary teams.

Wed be super excited if you have:

• Experience building accelerators, IP frameworks, or reusable BI assets.
• Exposure to product-aligned BI or data platforms.
• Certifications in cloud platforms or data technologies.
• Industry experience across HiTech, Manufacturing, Logistics, or similar domains.
• Strong thought leadership presence within the BI and analytics community.
