Role: Backup Administrator L1

Location: Navi Mumbai

Role Summary

The Backup Administrator L1 is responsible for the daily operational execution, monitoring, and first-level incident support for the enterprise backup infrastructure. This role ensures the successful completion of backup jobs and handles basic restoration requests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring & Reporting:
• Execute Daily backup Job monitoring and update the Daily Checklist accurately.
• Acknowledge and perform initial triage on alerts related to backup failures.
• Client & Job Management:
• Assist with NetBackup client installation and basic backup commissioning tasks.
• Perform preparation steps for routine backup types, including Normal File system and VM snapshot backup .
• Execute the Manual SAR cycle operation as required.
• Restoration & Recovery:
• Fulfill and execute standard Data Restoration Requests (Network Backup).
• Perform basic VM Snapshot Restoration tasks.
• Storage Operations:
• Assist with basic storage tasks related to backup copies, including FS Mounting/Unmounting and DG Import/Deport for BCV (Business Continuance Volume) based backups.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Backup Tool Knowledge:
• Basic understanding of backup tools, specifically Veritas NetBackup .
• Foundational understanding of the backup process flow and its components (daemons).
• System Fundamentals:
• Basic knowledge of Server Hardware, Operating Systems (OS) , and their configuration files.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts related to backup communication (
• General Skills:
• Detail-oriented approach for accurate checklist maintenance and reporting.
• Strong communication skills for escalating unresolved issues clearly.
