Backend Engineer

About the Role

Were hiring for an early-stage, well-funded Bangalore startup building a next-generation general automation platform powered by AI agents. As a Backend Engineer, youll bridge AI and infrastructuredesigning scalable services and orchestration layers that enable multi-agent LLM systems to operate reliably across desktop, browser, and mobile environments. Youll ship production systems fast while getting dedicated time (1520%) to explore cutting-edge AI research.

What Youll Do

• Integrate and optimise multi-agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI SDK, or similar frameworks
• Implement custom task-orchestration logic for complex automation pipelines
• Write production-grade APIs and microservices in Python, TypeScript, Go, or Rust
• Design and maintain orchestration infrastructure (Kubernetes, Nomad, or equivalent)
• Build and tune stateful networking layers with Traefik, Envoy, and load-balancers; ensure high-performance VNC/remote-desktop connectivity
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP/AWS/Azure using Terraform or OpenTofu; author CI/CD pipelines
• Dedicate 1520% of your time to exploring LLM fine-tuning, memory architectures, and emerging agent frameworks

What Were Looking For

• 3+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, plus at least one of Go or Rust
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI SDK, etc.) and multi-agent system design
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Nomad, or similar container orchestration tools
• Expertise in networking, load-balancers (Traefik/Envoy), and high-performance remote connections (VNC)
• Familiarity with Terraform/OpenTofu, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure)
• Excited to work in-person from Bangalore in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
