Backend Engineer (Python) | Django / FastAPI | 1–4 Years | Hyderabad

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer (Python) to design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native backend systems. You will work on building RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services while contributing to system performance, reliability, and overall engineering excellence.

This role is ideal for engineers who want to grow their expertise in backend development, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure while working in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and backend integrations
• Contribute to microservices-based architecture and distributed systems
• Write clean, scalable, testable, and maintainable code
• Participate in system design discussions and technical improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend and DevOps
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance optimisation of services
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues to ensure system reliability

Required Technical Skills:

• 14 years of hands-on experience in Python backend development
• Experience with at least one framework: Django, FastAPI, or Flask
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and API development
• Experience building production-grade backend services

API Integration

• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Understanding of API authentication (JWT, OAuth2) is a plus

Databases

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Basic knowledge of NoSQL databases like Redis or MongoDB is a plus
• Understanding of database design and performance optimisation

Microservices & Cloud (Preferred)

• Basic understanding of microservices architecture
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus
• Experience with Docker is an added advantage

Professional Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong ownership and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualification:

• Exposure to distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus
• GitHub or portfolio projects
