Role & Responsibilities - What you will do:

As a Backend Engineer for Arcade, you will develop and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure server-side infrastructure for games, including APIs, databases, and matchmaking systems. You will focus on cloud services (AWS/GCP), real-time data handling, and player services, working with technologies like C#, Java, Node.js, and Docker to support millions of concurrent users.

Your missions will be the following:

• System Design & Development: Building backend architecture for mobile games, including account management, in-game marketplaces, and social features.
• High-Load Optimization: Ensuring low latency and managing, scaling infrastructure to handle spikes in player traffic. Observability & Reliability
• API Development: Creating and maintaining clean, well-documented, and versioned APIs for game clients, mobile apps, and third-party integrations.
• Infrastructure Management: Utilizing cloud services (AWS/GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes for CI/CD and deployment.
• Compliance & Security: Managing GDPR compliance and securing player data.
• Game / SDK Ecosystem Knowledge (Nice to Have): Experience working with mobile SDKs (Android / iOS / Unity). Understanding of mobile network constraints and trade-offs.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3+ years in server-side development, preferably in gaming or high-concurrency environments.
• Languages: Strong proficiency in one primary backend language: Java (Spring Boot), Go, Node.js(Typescript)
• Databases: Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Tools: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
