Backend Engineer - Team Lead

We are looking for a Backend Engineer Team Lead to lead the design and development

of scalable, high-performance backend systems. You will be responsible for technical

architecture, mentoring engineers, and delivering robust production-grade services using

the Python/Django stack. This role requires strong system design skills, experience with

scalable architectures, and hands-on ownership of backend services in a production

environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture and development using Python and Django
• Design high-level system architectures focusing on scalability, performance, and
• reliability
• Review code and enforce best practices for clean, maintainable, and secure code
• Mentor and guide backend engineers; provide technical direction and feedback
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end
• solutions
• Backend & System Design
• Design and implement REST APIs
• Build scalable services capable of handling high throughput and large datasets
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system bottlenecks
• Design fault-tolerant, resilient backend systems
• Experience designing multi-tenant architectures (logical or physical isolation)
• Work closely with DevOps on deployment, monitoring, and scalability
• Hands-on experience with:
• CI/CD pipelines
• Docker and containerized applications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 58 years of backend development experience
• Strong expertise in Python and Django / Django REST Framework
• Solid understanding of: RESTful API design ,Relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL),ORM performance optimization
• Proven experience designing scalable, high-performance backend systems
• Strong system design and architecture skills
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Understanding of security best practices (auth, authorization, data protection)

Good to Have

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures
• Experience with async frameworks (Celery, Redis, Kafka, etc.)
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Prior startup or high-growth environment experience
