Backend Developer Node.js

Role Description

We are looking for a Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript to build scalable backend systems and cloud-native services. This role focuses on API development, AWS serverless architecture, and delivering reliable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions.

You will work closely with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver production-grade applications and support production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices
• Develop and manage serverless applications using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
• Integrate DynamoDB, SQL databases, and caching systems into scalable architectures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth releases
• Integrate third-party APIs and internal systems
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability of backend systems
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize backend performance
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Work with cloud services and distributed architectures

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience building REST APIs
• Experience with Express.js or NestJS
• Strong experience with AWS Lambda and AWS API Gateway
• Experience with DynamoDB and serverless architecture
• Experience with SQL databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or Redis)
• Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD practices
• Understanding of event-driven systems and cloud-native development

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microservices Architecture
• Knowledge of API security (JWT, OAuth)
• Experience with message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS
• Unit testing experience (Jest, Mocha, or Chai)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus, or Grafana

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
