Backend Architect / Software Architect with (Python and Microservices, Kafka , AI/ML experience

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture design and define scalable backend systems aligned with business needs.
• Develop high-level system design and architecture , identifying main components such as services, databases, and message queues.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Architect and implement distributed, microservices-based systems with Python (FastAPI/Django) .
• Design and manage event-driven architectures using Kafka and ensure seamless data flow between components.
• Define data models, API contracts, and service boundaries for scalability and maintainability.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, performance, and security standards.
• Guide engineering teams on architectural decisions, design trade-offs, and technology selection.
• Support scalability planning, performance optimization, and system reliability improvements.
• Mentor development teams, perform architecture reviews, and ensure consistent implementation of design principles

Required Skills and Experience:

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in an architect role .
• Strong expertise in Python , particularly FastAPI and/or Django .
• Proven experience designing and implementing Microservices and Event-Driven Architectures .
• Deep understanding of Kafka , RESTful APIs , and containerization (Docker , Kubernetes ).
• Strong system design knowledge, including scalability , fault tolerance , and data consistency strategies.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases , caching systems (Redis) , and message brokers .
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps pipelines .
• Excellent analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GraphQL , Elasticsearch , or API Gateway .
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm).
• Understanding of AI/ML model integration or data-centric architectures .
