We are hiring a Backend Engineer to design and build robust, scalable backend systems powering enterprise AI applications.

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer, you will work within cross-functional AI Pods to build high-performance backend services that integrate AI models, enterprise systems, and user-facing applications.

This is not a CRUD-API role. You will be building distributed systems that support real-time AI workflows, data-intensive applications, and production-grade deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Backend System Development

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI/Flask preferred)
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and WebSocket-based services
• Implement async processing and background task orchestration
• Design modular, maintainable microservices architectures
• Ensure robust error handling, logging, and observability

AI System Integration

• Integrate LLM-based systems and RAG pipelines into backend workflows
• Connect backend services to vector databases and structured data stores
• Build APIs for model inference and streaming AI responses
• Implement caching and rate-limiting strategies for AI endpoints

Data & Storage

• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Design efficient schema and query structures
• Optimize data access patterns for performance and scalability

Infrastructure & Deployment

• Containerize applications using Docker
• Deploy and manage services on Azure / AWS / GCP
• Implement CI/CD workflows using GitHub-based pipelines
• Monitor system performance, latency, and uptime
• Support load testing and performance benchmarking

Client Interaction

• Collaborate directly with clients to understand system requirements
• Translate business workflows into backend architectures
• Participate in solution design discussions

Required Skills

Core Engineering

• 36 years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or Flask
• Experience designing REST APIs and service-oriented architectures
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL systems
• Familiarity with GitHub-based version control workflows

System Design & Performance

• Knowledge of caching (Redis preferred)
• Understanding of message queues (Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.)
• Experience building scalable systems handling concurrent requests
• Ability to debug performance bottlenecks

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Docker-based deployments
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to Kubernetes (preferred)

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating LLM or ML models into backend services
• Experience with vector databases
• Exposure to event-driven architectures
• Experience in AI or data-driven product environments
• Knowledge of observability tools (monitoring, logging)
