Back End Developer SDE 3/EM1

Role Overview:

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for the development, performance and scaling of the new products as well as internal systems using a variety of tech-stack components which includes using AWS services, Nodejs/Nestjs, Kubernetes, Kafka, Golang, Pyspark, DMS, Redshift, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis,Cassandra & data analytics frameworks among others. You will independently drive project management and execution within your team, resolve cross organisational dependencies, oversee completeness of tasks and accuracy of estimates.

You will be responsible for making technical decisions about design and implementing them. Spearheading regular experimentation on our tech-stack and mentoring your fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Backend Engineering & System Architecture

• Make architectural decisions for high-performance, scalable backend systems
• Design, develop, and deploy next-generation backend services using modern frameworks and AWS
• Build and optimise distributed systems across multiple services and data flows

2. Tech Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead small teams, mentor fellow developers, and provide technical guidance
• Collaborate closely with Product, Business, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Drive end-to-end project execution, ensuring accurate estimations and timely delivery

3. Performance, Scaling & System Reliability

• Troubleshoot complex issues involving interactions across multiple systems
• Prioritize and resolve high-impact technical problems
• Continuously experiment with new tools, technologies, and frameworks to improve system scalability

4. Full-Stack System Understanding

• Demonstrate versatility by working across languages, platforms, and data systems

5. Hustle & Ownership

• Take initiative in problem-solving and solution-building
• Exhibit a strong ownership mindsetbelieving that every challenge can be solved with the right approach

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hardcore development experience with more than one programming language
• Cloud & Dev Ops: Experience in developing complex distributed systems on public cloud, preferably AWS
• Proficiency with NodeJS/Nestjs & Kubernetes
• Ability to handle databases like MongoDB, MySQL, Redshift, Cassandra & Redis
• Expertise with building data pipelines using Kafka, Pyspark, DMS, Redshift & BI tools
• Hands-on experience in video content delivery, media servers, CDNs and protocols

Qualification:

• B.Tech. Degree in Computer Science
