Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SDE Backend to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will own backend services end-to-end, design robust APIs, and play a key role in enabling AI-driven features through well-architected backend workflows. You will collaborate closely with frontend, AI/ML, and product teams to deliver secure and maintainable systems at scale.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

• Build scalable, reliable backend systems and APIs aligned with product requirements
• Own backend services from design and development to production support
• Enable AI-driven features through well-designed APIs and backend services
• Ensure performance, security, scalability, and maintainability of backend systems
• Collaborate closely with frontend, AI, and product teams to deliver high-impact solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build high-performance, well-structured APIs using FastAPI
• Design and implement RESTful APIs consumed by frontend applications
• Develop and integrate AI agents and AI-driven workflows into backend systems
• Work closely with AI/ML teams or frameworks to enable agent orchestration and execution
• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Manage asynchronous processing, background tasks, and API performance optimization
• Design backend architecture with scalability, fault tolerance, and observability in mind
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with proper documentation
• Implement unit and integration tests for backend services
• Deploy and manage backend services on cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Monitor production systems, debug issues, and ensure high availability
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and backend development principles
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI and RESTful API design
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and background task processing
• Experience integrating AI/ML components or agent-based workflows into backend systems
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and backend deployments
• Experience writing unit and integration tests for backend applications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional Agile teams
