We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to design, manage, and optimize complex database environments that support critical business operations. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across global teams.

Key Responsibilities

Database Design & Management

• Design, implement, and maintain complex database systems, including schema design and capacity planning
• Ensure database architecture aligns with business needs for scalability, performance, and reliability
• Configure and manage clustering, replication, and high-availability solutions

Database Performance Tuning

• Monitor and optimize database performance
• Perform query optimization, index management, and server tuning

Data Security & Compliance

• Implement database security policies, access controls, and encryption
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security standards
• Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments

Backup, Recovery & DR

• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Ensure reliable backups and perform regular recovery testing

Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve database performance, access, and utilization issues
• Provide database support to developers, analysts, and stakeholders

Upgrades & Maintenance

• Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime
• Stay current with database technologies and recommend enhancements

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain detailed documentation of database environments and procedures
• Create and update knowledge bases and troubleshooting guides

Collaboration

• Work closely with IT teams, developers, and business partners
• Participate in cross-functional projects and deliver solutions on time and within budget

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience with SQL Server database management
• Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
• Expertise in backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions
• Proven experience in database performance tuning and automation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Comfortable communicating with SMEs, senior engineers, and leadership

Nice to Have

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with ETL tools (Informatica, Boomi, MuleSoft)
• Experience with reporting/BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft Azure DBA, Oracle DBA, etc.)
