Role Overview

The Azure & Java Cloud Architect will lead the design, implementation, and governance of scalable, secure, and highly available solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep technical expertise in Azure cloud services and Java application development, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Architect Azure-based solutions including networking, security, compute, storage, and disaster recovery strategies.

Design end-to-end cloud migration and modernization roadmaps for enterprise applications and workloads on Azure.

Define Azure governance frameworks, security best practices, and cost optimization strategies.

Architect DevOps frameworks and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and related tools.

Implement container platforms (Kubernetes, AKS, Docker) and serverless solutions (Azure Functions).

Lead infrastructure automation initiatives using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates.

Guide enterprise architecture transformation, aligning Azure strategy with business objectives.

Perform architecture reviews, solution validation, risk analysis, and performance tuning for Azure environments.

Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to deliver secure and compliant Azure environments.

Mentor engineering teams and establish best practices for Azure adoption, operations, and optimization.

Stay updated on evolving Azure technologies, evaluating new services for strategic advantage.

Required Skills and Qualifications

15+ years of IT experience, with at least 8+ years in Azure cloud architecture and solutioning.

Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, with certifications like Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.

Deep understanding of enterprise networking, security, IAM, data management, and Azure governance.

Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and microservices architecture.

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) and automation frameworks.

Advanced knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), and GitOps.

Expertise in designing resilient, scalable, and cost-optimized Azure architectures.

Experience in large-scale Azure migrations, cloud-native application design, and legacy modernization.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Additional Skills

Exposure to FinOps practices for Azure cost governance.

Familiarity with security standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).

Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments.

Java Application Development

Design and develop Java-based applications and microservices for Azure cloud environments.

Optimize Java applications for performance, scalability, and security in Azure deployments.
