Azure Data Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Operations / Data Support Engineer to act as a critical escalation point for data pipeline issues. The role focuses on ensuring the stability, reliability, and quality of data ingestion and consumption across enterprise platforms. You will work closely with business and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for issues related to data ingestion, data consumption, and data pipelines.
• Proactively monitor data pipeline health to ensure high availability, performance, and uptime.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring incidents and document long-term corrective and preventive actions.
• Support and enhance data quality checks, identify anomalies, and recommend corrective solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues using SQL and Python.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Manage and prioritize multiple support requests using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or JIRA.
• Contribute to process improvements, monitoring enhancements, and operational best practices.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python for data analysis and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of data pipeline concepts (ETL / ELT).
• Experience with Azure cloud ecosystem, including:
• Azure Databricks
• PySpark
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
• Azure Workbooks
• KQL
• Grafana
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
