AWS Platform Engineer (Python Focused)

Role Summary

Responsible for designing, automating, and managing AWS infrastructure using Python, IaC, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage AWS services EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, Route53, IAM
• Build automation & tooling using Python (boto3, Lambda, serverless automation)
• Develop IaC with CloudFormation / Terraform
• Build & optimize CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Implement monitoring & alerting (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk / Grafana)
• Enforce security, IAM, KMS, WAF, compliance & automation
• Optimize performance, scaling & cost
• Support development teams, troubleshooting & documentation

Required Skills

• 5+ years in Cloud / DevOps with strong AWS experience
• Expert Python automation (boto3, scripting, serverless)
• IaC CloudFormation / Terraform
• Cloud networking, Linux, Git, CI/CD
• Strong problem-solving & analytical skills
• Bachelors in CS / Engineering (or equivalent)

Nice to Have

• Docker / ECS / EKS | Serverless Framework / SAM
• DB admin (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL)
• Monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)
• AWS Certifications
• Experience in microservices, event-driven systems, compliance environments
