Role Summary & Role Description
A key member AWS Cloud team under our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE); you will be responsible to drive design and implementation of best-in-class AWS Cloud Infrastructure to support State Street’s security, governance, and workload requirements
We are seeking a QA Lead with strong expertise in testing AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, and security. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and executing testing strategies for AWS services, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high reliability, security, and compliance. This role requires a deep understanding or integration, functional, unit, regression, test coverage, security, and compliance testing, along with hands-on experience using JIRA for test case management and Confluence for documentation
The ideal candidate should have proven experience leading and managing a QA team, mentoring testers, driving a culture of quality in cloud-based environments, is able design and implement robust and automated solutions to support State Street’s security, governance, and workload requirements.
The QA Lead will work closely with engineering, security, DevOps, and platform teams to build and execute a scalable testing strategy for AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and security compliance.
What you will be responsible for
As an AWS QA Lead you will
Defining and implementing test strategies for AWS cloud infrastructure, Terraform modules, and CI/CD pipelines.
Leading integration, functional, unit, and regression testing for AWS services.
Implementing automated and manual testing frameworks for Terraform (e.g., Terratest, Checkov, Sentinel, OPA).
Building and optimizing automated testing frameworks for
Validating AWS deployments using AWS security and compliance tools (Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS Config, etc.).
Ensuring CI/CD pipelines are tested and validated within AWS CodePipeline, Harness, and GitHub Actions.
Static Code Analysis & SAST
Ensuring security and compliance checks are integrated into CI/CD pipelines within AWS CodePipeline, Harness, and GitHub Actions.
Managing and tracking test cases, security findings, and compliance reports in JIRA.
Documenting test plans, infrastructure testing workflows, and validation processes in Confluence.
Collaborating with DevOps, security, and engineering teams to improve testing coverage and automation.
Working directly with the project team to understand the business requirements that will help define the overall test plans in order to execute test cases via automated tools.
Responsible for gathering Business requirements from stakeholders, creating user stories, use-case design and analysis and specifications, scenarios, workflow diagrams, process flows and technical documentation. Involved in entire life cycle, which includes Designing, Developing and Execution of the entire Quality Assurance Process.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and involving in entire QA Life Cycle, which includes Designing, Developing and Execution of the entire Quality assurance Process.
Reviewing and understanding business requirements, User stories, functional specifications and building test cases based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
Analyzing Test Scenarios and design/convert to automation scripts.
Create test scenarios and implement automated functional test cases that will serve as acceptance test criteria for platform engineering.
Provide high quality validation and coverage of cloud services and infrastructure for Platform engineering team.
Ensure Software Quality Assurance State Street internal process followed in the project to avoid audit and compliance requirements.
The individual in this position will collaborate with peers on cross-functional teams to deliver high quality solutions, providing software quality assurance through all stages of the platform engineering life cycle.
Working directly with users, analysts and developers to understand business process and the applications under test in order to deliver high quality software solutions to our clients
Willing to learn new technologies and push the boundaries of test automation to achieve measurable efficiencies.
Ensuring proper procedures and controls are in place throughout the testing process based on playbook defined using Agile-Kanban methodologies.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of overall experience in software testing, QA automation, and cloud infrastructure testing, with a strong focus on AWS services, security, and CI/CD pipelines.
5+ years of experience leading and managing QA teams, driving test strategy, mentoring engineers, and implementing automation frameworks for infrastructure as code (Terraform), AWS security testing, and CI/CD validation.
Financial services or regulated industry experience a huge plus
Experience in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, etc.) is preferred. Has context menu
Proven leadership experience in managing QA teams, defining testing strategies, and mentoring engineers.
Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, Harness, OPA, Control Tower, etc.).
Experience in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, etc.) is preferred.
Knowledge of DevSecOps, cloud security, and penetration testing best practices.
Strong programming and scripting background in languages such as shell scripts, python, Java.
Experience in designing, coding and deploying Terraform.
Demonstrated experience in full stack automation and AWS service enablement
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Security – Specialty are a plus.
