In this role, you will be working as a Monitoring and Security AWS Data Platform Engineer, who must Implement, Perform, Provide Technical Support, Recommend Support, and Create Documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain a highly scalable data platform on AWS, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to support data platform functionalities and automation needs.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AWS tools, services, and best practices, guiding the team in optimal cloud usage.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership to deliver high-quality solutions and meet project objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and ensure knowledge bases are regularly updated to support internal and crossteam collaboration.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members through active listening, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying and resolving issues related to data processing, data consistency, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement data ingestion workflows from diverse data sources, databases, and APIs into Amazon S3.
  • Develop applications, scripts, or automation processes for handling and processing data across AWS services.
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Work with and coordinate AWS services including Amazon ECS, Amazon RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, Serverless technologies, AWS Glue, DynamoDB, EMR, and Amazon S3.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills


Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python for building data processing scripts and automation.
  • Handson experience with ETL frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline development.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Athena for querying data in S3.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Proficiency in Amazon S3 for storage management and data lake operations.
  • Experience building serverless data workflows using AWS services (e.g., Lambda).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Glue for ETL development and orchestration.
  • Experience with Amazon RDS, Amazon ECS, AWS Step Functions, and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and observability tools such as Splunk, Cribl, and New Relic.
  • Exposure modern data tools like Upsolver or Metabase.
