AWS Cloud Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES: AWS CLOUD ENGINEER

Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment:

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions on AWS.
• Manage VPCs, subnets, route tables, and NAT gateways for proper network segmentation and communication.

Automation & CI/CD:

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines using AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.

Monitoring & Optimization:

• Monitor infrastructure using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus).
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and implement best practices to reduce cloud expenses.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement IAM policies, roles, and least-privilege access controls.
• Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., ISO, SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA as applicable). Manage and automate backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies.

Operational Support:

• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and application-level issues.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and upgrades.
• Collaborate with DevOps, developers, and other teams to support cloud-based applications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 6-7 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.

Skills:

• Expertise in core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VPC, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of networking (DNS, VPN, load balancing, firewalls, etc.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with Linux system administration and shell scripting
• Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
