Role Summary & Role Description
A key member AWS Cloud team under our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE); you will be responsible to drive design and implementation of best-in-class AWS Cloud Infrastructure to support State Street’s security, governance, and workload requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong background in AWS services, platform engineering, infrastructure as code, and security best practices. The ideal candidate has at least 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation, with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in AWS environments.
This role requires expertise in AWS native services, Terraform, SDLC best practices, and cloud security while working with AWS Control Tower, AFT, IAM, and networking services to build scalable and secure cloud environments. The AWS Cloud Engineer will collaborate with platform, security, and DevOps teams to ensure best practices are implemented across the cloud ecosystem.
What you’ll do:
As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will
Designing, implementing, and optimizing AWS cloud infrastructure using best practices.
Managing AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, CloudWan, IPAM, Lambda, and Control Tower.
Automating infrastructure deployment with Terraform.
Managing AWS Control Tower and AFT to standardize multi-account governance and automation.
Implementing security best practices, including IAM policies, SCPs, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS Config, SSM, SecretManager and AWS KMS.
Supporting CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Harness, and GitHub.
Ensuring compliance with AWS Well-Architected Framework and industry security standards.
Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing AWS environments using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and third-party observability tools.
Collaborating with DevOps, platform engineering, and security teams to improve cloud automation, governance, and security posture.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline
15+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation.
8+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS services and cloud automation.
Understanding of Agile delivery process is required.
AWS Certifications (at least one required):
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
AWS Certified Security – Specialty
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty (preferred)
Strong experience with Terraform, AWS Control Tower, and AFT.
Experience with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, etc.).
Familiarity with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD, SDLC, and cloud security best practices
