Summary:

  • Function Purpose: The Product Engineering Lead will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle development and operation of various technological applications within a specific domain. This role involves leading teams of engineering professionals organized into cross-functional Agile PODs. The incumbent will exemplify the principles of a modern product engineering organization, emphasizing continuous delivery, business engagement, and comprehensive ownership of product technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Performance Mentoring: Product Engineering Lead for $50-100mn portfolio
  • Delivery Execution: Lead Agile POD engineering teams, providing technical guidance and support. Ensure Agile PODs own their products from development to production with clear accountability.
  • Delivery Excellence & Innovation: Promote Experience Led, Modern Applications (e.g., Microservices, APIs) and Engineering (e.g., Full Stack, DevSecOps). Cultivate a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, aligned with DORA standards
  • Drive & generate business: Collaborate with business leaders to prioritize features and improvements for long-term growth.
  • Talent & Capability management: Develop scalable strategies, delegate effectively, and empower team leaders. Maintain high collaboration and productivity across geographically distributed teams.
  • Thought Leadership: Apply insights from Project to Product by Dr. Mik Kersten for transformation and value delivery.
  • Client relationship management: Align engineering efforts with customer needs and business outcomes.

Required Capabilities/Skills/Years of Experience:

  • Strategic understanding: Foster a product-first mindset for building and improving applications.
  • Industry and business knowledge: Minimum 15+ years of complex solutioning experience, with broad technical experience. Domain expertise across verticals.
  • Delivery Management: Proficient in decomposing business challenges and identifying the necessary technical capabilities, including UI, Natural UI, AI, Cloud/Cloud Native, Orchestration, Database, and Low Latency.
  • Relationship management: Demonstrates effective executive communication skills to clearly convey vision and lead teams across the enterprise; capable of providing constructive challenges and valuable insights to counterparts.
  • Leadership experience: Minimum 10+ years in senior leadership role. Exhibits strong leadership skills to build a robust technology architecture function and lead by example; proficient in mentoring and talent management.
