Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The AVP Technical (multi-unit role) will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and governance for the Engineering function across high-end hospitality condominium assets. The role ensures world-class reliability of all technical systems, superior member experience, statutory compliance, cost optimization, sustainability integration, and development of future-ready engineering leadership.


This position plays a critical role in translating business objectives into robust technical strategies while maintaining the highest benchmarks of safety, aesthetics, and operational excellence expected in super-luxury environments.

  • Internal: Club Leadership, Operations, F&B, Security, Finance, Projects, HR, Facility Management Teams, Contractual Staff


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Driving Operational Excellence

  • Provide strategic oversight of all MEPFF systems, civil infrastructure, utilities, plant rooms, and technical assets across super-luxury properties.
  • Ensure uninterrupted operations through strong preventive maintenance frameworks, lifecycle planning, and AMC governance.
  • Lead periodic audits of engineering systems, fire & life safety, and technical risk preparedness.
  • Drive optimization of CAM charges, energy efficiency, water management, and sustainability initiatives without compromising service standards.
  • Oversee contingency planning, 24x7 technical readiness, emergency response protocols, and crisis management.
  • Partner with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges and implement system upgrades.


Applied Learning & Technical Capability Building

  • Champion a learning-led engineering culture through hands-on exposure, structured training, and system-specific capability building.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer for all new installations, upgrades, and major refurbishment projects.
  • Conduct post-incident, breakdown, and project reviews to identify root causes and embed preventive learnings.
  • Enable cross-functional and cross-property learning to build a resilient and agile second line of leadership.
  • Facilitate regular technical training sessions to keep teams updated on emerging technologies, automation, and sustainability practices.


People Management & Leadership Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering leadership teams across properties.
  • Define KRAs, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide structured feedback and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety ownership, and service excellence.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement targeted development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Ensure optimal manpower deployment while maintaining morale, engagement, and retention.
  • Encourage open communication, recognition, and continuous professional growth.


Business & Financial Acumen

  • Lead preparation, control, and governance of Engineering CAPEX & OPEX budgets (HLP & R&M).
  • Drive cost optimization across energy consumption, contracts, and repair cycles without compromising luxury standards.
  • Review dashboards, MIS, and engineering KPIs to improve efficiency and resource planning.
  • Evaluate ROI for technical upgrades, automation, and sustainability investments.
  • Align engineering strategies with broader business, financial, and brand objectives.


Leadership & Executive Presence

  • Act as the senior strategic voice for the Engineering function across leadership forums.
  • Translate corporate and brand goals into actionable technical roadmaps.
  • Represent Engineering confidently in leadership reviews, audits, statutory inspections, and regulatory interactions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and government bodies.
  • Uphold and project a premium brand image through effective stakeholder engagement and swift resolution of escalations.
  • Build and lead a Core Engineering Emergency Response Team capable of managing high-risk and complex scenarios.


Occupational Health, Safety & Sustainability (HSSE)

  • Lead implementation of HSSE standards across all engineering operations.
  • Identify, mitigate, and monitor engineering-related health, safety, and environmental risks.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety legislation, property safety standards, and emergency protocols.
  • Train teams on fire safety, first aid, hazard identification, and emergency preparedness.
  • Investigate and document incidents, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, including PPE adherence and safe operating procedures.
  • Ensure emergency readiness through drills, equipment audits, and coordination with authorities.


JOB REQUIREMENTS / HIRING PROFILE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • MBA (Preferred)


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1520 years of progressive experience in engineering operations
  • Prior exposure to hospitality, luxury real estate, clubs, hotels, or large integrated developments preferred
