Clearstream's core business ensures that cash and securities are promptly and effectively delivered between parties, and that clients are always notified of the rights and obligations attached to the securities they keep under our custody.

Field of activity:

D7 is the platform of Clearstream that offers innovative services to its customers for the issuance of financial securities such as shares, warrants and funds. In other words

without the Issuance services, there would be nothing to trade on the German financial market, and the supply will get short for the international markets too. The D7 IT Team develops the next-generation software that enables our business colleagues and customers to boost volume and processing efficiency and as a result to increase revenue and decrease operational costs.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new and existing components to fulfil the functional and technical requirements. The components need to support fail-over, be highly scalable, secure and resilient under heavy load. You will be involved in all the aspects of the SDLC starting with initial business requirements until the production deployment and including 2nd level production support.

• Communicate with business owners, business operation people and business analysts from the different departments to understand and shape the requirements
• Understand the potential as well as the limitations of the existing processes, services and used platforms
• Create technical design within a group of experts with strong focus on information security, scalability, performance and long-term maintainability
• Ensure that the solution and its implementation comply with the DBG SDLC standards
• Plan and execute the transition from test into production contribute to 2nd level production support
• Stay open-minded and understand the broad context of implementing and operating software components in a highly regulated environment

Qualifications / Required skills:

• University degree in computer science.
• 10+ years overall professional experience in IT.
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented language (preferably Java) and ideally Spring boot.
• Knowledge of Open shift/Kubernetes, experience with GCP (or other cloud infra).
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Overview of CI/CD concepts.
• Experience with Microservice architecture.
• Ability to motivate and steer people coming from different backgrounds (Dev, Business, Product etc.).
• Highly analytical mind-set You are able to actively listen and quickly understand arguments and goals of different people.
• Excellent communication skills You explain the IT topics in a manner understandable to people without an IT background. You do not hesitate to ask questions, express your doubts or kindly challenge ideas during discussions. You have no problem admitting and accepting mistakes.
• High degree of self-dependence You are self-motivated, looking for opportunities to improve things or your own skills constantly. You take responsibility and are motivated to deliver.
• Team player You are able to work with people of different backgrounds and personalities; you are happy to help and share your expertise. You appreciate the skills of others and ask for opinion or review easily.
