Position Title: Assistant/Associate Vice President Non-Motor Underwriting

Department : Non-Motor Underwriting

Reports to : Channel Head

Job Location - Delhi

Experience - Minimum 12 years of experience in Underwriting

Purpose of this Role

The Corporate Underwriter is responsible for underwriting a book of business for the fire, engineering & miscellaneous lines of business to achieve the budgeted premium and loss ratio.

Responsibilities

• Formulate Underwriting guidelines for the company in the concerned LOBs in consultation with other underwriters and senior management. Implement these guidelines in offices PAN India.
• Supervise the day-to-day underwriting operations and define priorities. Assist others with resolving complex problems. Ensure adherence to underwriting standards and objectives.
• Conduct underwriting audits and other technical quality review programs. Knowledge of insurance, products and marketing techniques, insurance contracts, funding and rating.
• Stay up to date with knowledge of the insurance sector, contracts, products, funding, rating and marketing techniques.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data prepared by underwriters & use letters of authority to provide approval for risk selection and acceptance, coverage and price.
• Recommend creative alternatives in regards to rating plans, coverages.
• Actively manage team to deliver timely, high quality and profitable products and services to assigned agents.
• Train team members.
• Use the objective setting and performance.
