Job Title: AVP IT Actuarial, Finance & Investment Systems

Grade: M5L3

Function: Information Technology Insurance Systems

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AVP IT Actuarial, Finance & Investment Systems to lead and drive technology initiatives across Actuarial, Accounting, and Investment platforms within an insurance environment. The role will play a critical part in IFRS 17 / Ind AS 117 system readiness, core accounting platform management, and delivery of large-scale transformation programs.

This position requires strong domain expertise in insurance finance systems, hands-on technical capability, and proven project and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

IFRS 17 / Ind AS 117 & Systems Transformation

  • Drive system readiness and implementation for IFRS 17 / Ind AS 117 across Actuarial, Accounting, and Investment systems.
  • Work closely with Actuarial, Finance, and Investment stakeholders to align system design with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Support implementation and integration of CSM engines, valuation platforms, and GL systems.

Core Systems Management

  • Manage and oversee Core Accounting Platforms, Actuarial Valuation Systems, Portfolio Management Systems, and related integrations.
  • Ensure robust data reconciliation, posting logic accuracy, and financial controls across systems.
  • Strengthen automation and control frameworks to improve data quality and reporting reliability.

Project & Program Management

  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation models.
  • Manage changes in scope, schedule, and cost using appropriate governance and validation techniques.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Track and measure project performance using established metrics and reporting tools.
  • Perform proactive risk identification, mitigation, and escalation.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor technical and functional teams across development and delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and system integrators.
  • Organize and lead regular project review meetings with a structured communication plan.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project and system documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Domain & Functional Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of GL systems for insurers, Actuarial Valuation Platforms, and Portfolio Management Systems.
  • Working understanding of IFRS 17 / Ind AS 117, CSM concepts, and insurance accounting processes.
  • Good understanding of Insurance Core Policy Administration Systems and payout systems.
  • Experience working with reconciliation tools and financial controls.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in programming and technologies such as .Net, Java, Python, RDBMS, and system integration techniques.
  • Experience in application development, system integration, and large-scale IT implementations.

Leadership & Project Management

  • Proven experience in project and program management within financial services or insurance.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, quality orientation, and stakeholder management capability.
  • Good working knowledge of project estimation techniques and delivery governance.

Experience & Qualifications

Education

  • BE / B.Tech / MCA / MSc (Computer Science) or equivalent.

Experience

  • 10+ years of overall experience in software development and project management.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with GL systems for insurers, Actuarial Valuation Platforms, or Portfolio Management Systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in IFRS, LOMA, AIII, Fellowship, or CFA Level 1.
