Position Title: Assistant Vice President Global KYC Planning

Position Summary

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) in the Planning Department will support MUFGs Global KYC Operations transformation agenda. This role will work closely with the VP, Planning, and cross-functional stakeholders across regional and global locations to design, implement, and optimize

KYC operating models, processes, systems, and governance frameworks. The AVP will drive execution of business transformation initiatives, ensure alignment across APAC offices, and support operational consolidation efforts to achieve global standardization, cost efficiency, and enhanced control.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Project & Program Management:

• Support and execute strategic KYC projects as directed by the VP, including:
• Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation.
• Business process reengineering and workflow optimization.
• Process standardization across global / regional locations.
• KYC system architecture enhancement and integration efforts.
• Coordinate project activities, track milestones, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Establish and maintain a structured project management framework meeting MUFGs global audit standard.
• Prepare project documentation, status updates, meeting materials, and dashboards for senior management.

Stakeholder Management & Consensus Building:

• Collaborate with local offices, regional hubs, and global KYC stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve conflicts, and secure alignment on strategic initiatives.
• Provide win-win solutions that balance operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and business needs.
• Act as a first line point of contact for project-related queries and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.

Business Analysis & Transformation:

• Conduct business analysis at MUFG branches across the globe, identifying operational gaps, improvement opportunities, and optimization levers.
• Support the design, testing, and implementation of enhanced operating processes, procedures, and system functionalities.
• Work with relevant teams to ensure effective use of KYC systems and tools in daily operations.

Regional Consolidation & Integration Initiatives:

• Assist in formulating strategic plans for operational consolidation across the APAC region.
• Drive the implementation of agreed integration initiatives and ensure smooth cross-functional execution.
• Monitor progress, remove roadblocks, and escalate risks or issues as necessary.
• Prepare management reporting on outcomes, benefits, and forward plans.

Governance, Controls & Quality:

• Help create frameworks that enhance productivity, risk control, and standardization across KYC operations.
• Ensure adherence to compliance requirements, data accuracy, and completeness of operational processes.
• Identify gaps in projects or processes and propose mitigation actions to the VP Planning.

Job Requirements:

Technical & Functional Skills:

• Strong knowledge of global KYC requirements, operational processes, and supporting systems.
• Proven experience in KYC transformation, target operating model design, or operational reengineering.
• Ability to verify, interpret, and analyze operational data for project direction.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and other PM tools.

Experience:

• 712+ years with minimum 2-3+ years in KYC operations or transformation roles (global standards preferred).
• Experience in operational system design, development, and implementation.
• Experience coordinating with overseas teams or supporting regional / global initiatives is a strong plus.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Result-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple complex initiatives.
• Ability to manage conflicts, handle escalations, and drive consensus across diverse teams.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelors degree or higher.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
