Organizational Overview
Synchrony’s Strategic Partnerships and Agile team is an amalgamation of 4 sub verticals, SM (Supplier Management), CSS (Client Systems & Support) , OOA (Office of Agile) & SR (Strategic Relationships). Supplier Management & Strategic Relationship teams have the mission to maintain a right-sized, healthy, and dynamic portfolio of suppliers with the breadth and depth of capabilities to power Synchrony products and services while maintaining compliance with our Supplier Management program and reduce the 3rd party outsourcing risk. The Office of Agile(OOA) endeavours to support the enterprise-wide adoption and adherence to Lean-Agile principles through the promotion of progressive thinking, tools, and techniques. In addition, the Office of Agile strives to define organizational guidelines which identify, prioritize, align and successfully execute the strategic directives of senior leadership. The Client Systems Support (CSS) team delivers multi-platform configuration solutions to drive functionality behind many core processes across Synchrony’s credit and pay later products including loyalty programs and campaigns, cardholder pricing and billing, promotional financing, merchant processing, billing statement content, cardholder letters, and plastics.
Role Summary/Purpose
The AVP, Office of Agile – Governance & Process role is responsible for supporting the Office of Agile Governance and Process function. This position will have a key role in driving the adoption and maturation of Agile processes across the Synchrony enterprise. The candidate will need to successfully build relationships with Leadership, Conditional Approvers, the Community of Practice, and Governance partners. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the Agile process and control governance related to Assurance, including the updating and creation of policies, procedures, and standards documentation as they relate to Assurance in the Synchrony enterprise.
This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the QCPR team in the review and audit of releases for Agile Teams across the Technology and Operations Programs and serve as the on-call escalation resource for after-hours escalations
Champion improvement and simplification of the Assurance process while ensuring adherence to related policies, standards, and procedures
Partner with the Community of Practice to drive awareness and integration of updates or changes to Agile processes and guidelines through training, communication, monitoring, and coaching.
Be a change advocate for opportunities to simplify processes and enhance monitoring mechanisms resulting in an optimal control environment.
Directly support VP, Office of Agile – Process & Governance to ensure regulatory readiness for the Office of Agile to maintain an “audit ready” posture and adequately demonstrate the execution of controls and activities
Collaborate with Office of Agile Leadership, Release Train Engineer, and Scrum Masters
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of either Technology or Process Management experience, OR in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma/G.E.D. and minimum of 6 years of either Technology or Process Management experience
Demonstrated experience with Risk management and Assurance oversight
Experience working with Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, Keylight, Workfront, ServiceNow, and Octane
Minimum 3 years of Agile Project Management experience including experience as a Scrum Master
Demonstrated experience of driving improvements across complex organizations and processes of varying levels of maturity
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
Experience working in a regulated industry as a Scrum Master
Deep understanding of Agile methodologies with SAFe certifications preferred
Proven experience handling multiple, and competing priorities across all stakeholder groups and effectively resolving competing priorities and interests with minimal disruption
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to follow issues through to resolution
Empathy skills to relate to the perspectives of team members, helping build trust, resolve conflicts and promote collaboration
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of either Technology or Process Management experience, OR in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma/G.E.D. and minimum of 6 years of either Technology or Process Management experience
Work Timings :(02:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST)
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
