Role Summary
We are seeking a hands on Automation Test Lead to design and build a Selenium automation framework from scratch using Java, TestNG, and Maven, lead a high performing team, and plan/execute automated test suites within committed timelines. The role requires strong client facing communication, day to day team leadership, rigorous code and deliverable reviews, and a sharp focus on ROI—measuring and improving the business value of automation.

Responsibilities
Framework & Engineering Excellence
•    Architect, implement, and maintain a scalable, maintainable, and modular Selenium framework (Java + TestNG + Maven) following POM/Screenplay, utilities, environment config, and test data strategies.
•    Integrate reporting (Extent), logging, screenshots, retry/flakiness control, and parallel/cross browser execution 
•    Establish and enforce coding standards, branching strategy, and reviews in Git; maintain package/version hygiene with Maven.
Delivery & Timelines
•    Translate scope into automation plans/estimates, define entry/exit criteria, prioritize scenarios, and deliver on schedule across sprints/releases.
•    Drive CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) for nightly/on commit runs, with quality gates and artifact retention.
•    Own defect triage, root cause analysis, and stabilization to meet quality and schedule goals.
Team Leadership & Day to Day Management
•    Lead daily stand ups, unblock the team, coach engineers, and resolve technical issues (locators, waits, data, environment).
•    Conduct code reviews for tests, libraries, and utilities; mentor on design patterns, OOP/SOLID, and reliable test design.
•    Collaborate closely with manual QA, Dev, DevOps, and Product to ensure end to end feasibility and readiness.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
•    Interface directly with client stakeholders for planning, status, demos, risks, and escalations; communicate clearly and proactively.
•    Maintain crisp documentation: Automation Strategy, Test Plan, Run Book, Contribution Guidelines, and knowledge base.
ROI & Metrics
•    Define and track automation ROI: execution time saved, cycle time reduction, defect prevention, coverage growth, and maintenance cost.
•    Publish regular dashboards on coverage, pass rates, flakiness, defect leakage, and cost/benefit trends; drive continuous improvement.

Must Have Skills
•    Java (advanced), Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Maven, Git—demonstrable experience building a framework from scratch.
•    Strong test design (data driven/keyword/hybrid), locator strategy, synchronization, test data mgmt., and environment config.
•    CI/CD expertise (Azure DevOps): pipelines, triggers, parallelization, artifact/report publishing.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to present status, defend decisions, and negotiate scope/time.
•    Proven experience planning & executing automation within tight timelines while ensuring quality.
