Job Description

Role Title: Engineer Automation

Department: Project & Engineering

Location: Pune

Role Purpose: To independently manage and execute multiple automation projects while ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery timelines. The role also involves commissioning activities and providing after-sales service support.

Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or E&TC Engineering

Experience: 3 7 Years

Preferred Industry Exposure: Dairy, Food & Beverages

Key Responsibilities & KRAs

Automation Engineering & Design

• Develop process logic for PLC systems and prepare detailed electrical drawings.
• Prepare I/O lists and Bill of Materials (BOM) for control panels.
• Select PLCs, I/O cards, HMIs, VFDs, and field instruments as per project and customer requirements.
• Design PLC panels, PID panels, MCC panels, and system architecture.
• Develop HMI and SCADA screens based on approved P&IDs.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings including GA drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and system layouts.
• Implement PID loop programming in PLC systems.

Compliance & Documentation

• Develop alarm management, batch reports, and audit trails in compliance with 21 CFR Part 11.
• Execute I/O testing and prepare DQ, IQ, and OQ documentation.

Testing, Commissioning & Site Support

• Coordinate panel testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and instrument calibration.
• Finalise and implement handshake signals with upstream and downstream equipment.
• Lead site installation and commissioning from both process and automation perspectives.
• Coordinate with the electrical team to ensure timely completion of site activities.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Identify and finalise automation vendors and participate in technical discussions and negotiations.
• Provide online and on-site support to customers as required during execution and post-commissioning.

Reporting & Coordination

• Ensure regular and timely project status updates to the reporting manager.
• Support after-sales service activities as required.

Knowledge & Skills Required

• PLC & SCADA platforms: Siemens, Allen-Bradley (AB)
• PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA configuration
• Software development, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of industrial automation systems in process industries
