Associate

The Registered Nurse is that professional who is directly responsible for care of the patient during endoscopy procedures and indirectly responsible through coordination and information sharing of both pre- and post-procedure care. The nurse will assist the physician during the procedure

1.       Provide professional nursing care with an assigned unit according to established standards and procedures.

2.       Takes the nursing history, summaries data, and states nursing diagnoses and patient care needs

3.       Answering patient questions and addressing their concerns.

4.       Observing patient vitals.

5.       Sedating Patient before procedures & Monitors the patient during the administration of Moderate Sedation.

6.       Recovering patients after procedures.

7.       Administeringnecessary medication to patient.

8.       Keeping the patient informedthrough the duration of the procedure.

9.       Completing all necessary documentation including patient notes and discharge documents.

10.   Preparing the instruments, equipment,and supplies for the procedures.

11.   Cleaning and sterilization equipment before use.

12.   Providing assistance to Doctors throughout the procedure.

13.   Enters data correctly into the Patient’s Medical Record.

14.   Checks procedure equipment to include all emergency equipment, prior to the first endoscopy case of the day

15.   Documents accurately, appropriately as required by policies and procedures.

16.   Participates in mock emergency drills.

17.   Always greet with smile to patient and companion for their well-being.

18.   Be groomed always.

19.   Observes and records signs, symptoms and behaviors including the physiological status of patients’ reports, assessment changes to the concerned authority.

20.   Ensure smooth functioning of admission, discharge and transfer procedures and assists others with patients’ activities and care with collaborative manner.

21.   Follow handover-takeover process accurately with written/online notes.

22.   Ensure introduction of next shift team member to patient and patient side medication check in each shift.

23.   Executes physician’s orders for all assigned patients safely and properly administers medications and treatments.

24.   Ensure identification safety for collection of specimens during collection and till the report informed to consultant.

25.   Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipment’s are in working order.

26.   Keep equipment’s in charging.
