Purpose

NAB has a large Windows Server footprint, as one of the core foundational infrastructure components for hosting NAB workload across the enterprise.  It plays a critical role in maintaining secure, efficient, and controlled access to NAB’s systems, applications and data directly supporting security compliance and cloud first strategies.

Within the Core Services Engineering team, the Senior Wintel Engineer is a key contributor in providing:

• Advanced troubleshooting & technical support.
• Maintenance activities across various Windows platforms
• Maintaining a high level of security, availability, and performance.
• Identifying and driving automation opportunities.
• Providing guidance to application support teams and enforcing security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Wintel Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

Ownership

• Lifecycle management of Windows systems, including SOE and deployment.
• Maintaining currency of all Windows Operating Systems.
• Leading Windows migration activities to support Cloud and Hybrid solutions aligned to NAB’s Cloud first strategy.

Administration

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance of Windows servers.
• Maintain defined SLAs across all established BAU work streams including Change, Incident, Problem, Service Requests and Vulnerabilities.
• Participate and execute Disaster recovery and Site Recover scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies and audit findings.

Security

• Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of Windows security controls and compliance including Group Policy, backup, logging, capacity, disaster recovery and highly privileged access.
• Monitor and respond to Windows related security incidents.
• Understand and manage PKI infrastructure.
• Establish collaborative relationships with risk partners and security teams.
• Understand NAB security standards (GIRP) and proactively enforce policies to support compliance activities.

Automation

• Lead service improvements through automation of administrative tasks, provisioning, de-provisioning, reporting and object lifecycle management leveraging PowerShell.
• Manage patching through SCCM and Ansible.
• Identify opportunities to automate standard tasks and incident response through Ansible, PowerShell scripting and develop response templates.

Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Active Directory, DNS, Operations, Network, Security and application teams to integrate and support Active Directory across NAB.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Wintel engineers.
• Lead Wintel related initiatives and projects.

Technical Skills

• Minimum 7 -10 years’ experience in Microsoft Windows based technology.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows technologies including practical use, design, and deployment of large-scale Wintel infrastructures.
• Strong awareness and understanding of hardware, networks, software technologies and applications.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing complex environment related issues.
• Experience with Cloud IaaS workloads and services.
• Experience with BAU operational processes in a complex environment.
